Lucchese is back with a second collection with designer and hatmaker Nick Fouquet.
As a follow up to their debut collaboration in 2022, the two are teaming up on a range of men’s and women’s cowboy boots, accessories and cowboy hats that draw inspiration from a romantic, nostalgic road trip through the heart of the American West.
Dubbed “The Ballad of Big Velvet” collection, the assortment includes four women’s boots – Calico ($1,495), Women’s Desert Sands ($1,495), Little Reata ($1,296) and Ace-High ($2,895), four men’s boots – Hawk Moon ($1,695), Men’s Desert Sands ($1,495), Barking Irons ($2,895) and Badlands ($1,495), three western hats, a cap and cowboy socks.

Two of the men’s and women’s boots, the respective Desert Sands and the Ace-High and Badlands, are “his and hers” boot pairings designed with minimal design differences. The collection will also include three western hats – Palomino Holy Paw, Outer Range and Highway 89, along with a Lucchese corduroy cap and cowboy socks.
For Fouquet, this collection is personal. “It has so much of my soul in it and that’s reflected in the styles,” the designer said in a statement. “I really strived for timelessness. I referenced some old movies and was listening to a lot of old country albums. To me, it was paramount to get into the archives and history of the brand on a granular level. In the end, the essence is adventure, the places we go with our boots and the stories we remember on our journeys.”
Doug Hogue, vice president of product at Lucchese, added that this latest tie-up with Fouquet is a celebration of their shared appreciation of “authentic craftsmanship, the cowboy ethos, and a nod to vintage Western fashion.”

“With this second collection, we wanted to push the boundaries a little further, offering fresh, vintage-inspired styles that feel both timeless and current,” Hogue said. “In encouraging ourselves to push our creative boundaries even further, the partnership was an exciting journey from the very beginning.”
The new Lucchese x Nick Fouquet collection will drop in two parts. The first release, featuring the core collection, will be available on Oct. 4, while the second release — inclusive of the women’s Ace-High and the men’s Badlands — will follow on Nov. 1.
All products within the launch will be available for purchase online as well as exclusively in-store at the South Congress location in Austin.
