“Family Guy” debuted in January 1999 and the animated show is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a Halloween special, that features a dig at Kanye West and Adidas Yeezy sneakers.
Hulu shared a clip on Instagram on Thursday from the upcoming episode that’s set to debut exclusively on the streaming platform on Oct. 14. “Guts will be spilled. 🎃 Celebrate #FamilyGuy’s 25th Anniversary and stream the brand new Halloween Special Oct 14th on Hulu,” the caption read.
Part of the clip features Peter Griffin, Glenn Quagmire and Cleveland Brown attempting to move a giant pumpkin ahead of a pumpkin contest and they drop it and destroy it. “We wrecked the pumpkin!” Peter says, and then Cleveland cries out, “And my sneakers!”

They then pan to Cleveland wearing what appears to be the once coveted Yeezy 450s covered in pumpkin flesh. Quagmire asks, “Are those Yeezys?” And Cleveland says, almost ashamed: “They’re cheaper now.”
The joke on the beloved cartoon show comes after Adidas ended its relationship with West, founder of the Yeezy brand, in October 2022 after he made repeated antisemitic comments and wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt during Paris Fashion Week that year.
In May 2023, Adidas announced a plan to sell its $1.3 billion worth of Yeezy inventory they hadn’t sold since the separation, which included a donation of the proceeds to organizations representing people who “were hurt” by West’s comments and behavior.
This isn’t the first time West is mentioned or featured on the Seth Macfarlane-created show. A character inspired by him has previously appeared on “Family Guy,” and the rapper even voiced the Ye-inspired character named Kenny West on the animated show’s spinoff “The Cleveland Show.”
Over on TikTok, fans have been sharing clips of them seemingly finding discounted Yeezy sneakers at various Adidas stores as a result of the company parting ways with the rapper.
