Five-time WNBA All-Star A’ja Wilson traded her Nike kicks for a breezy summery look on the WNBA All-Star Weekend orange carpet at the Phoenix Convention Center on July 18.
She paired barely there black stiletto sandals with a custom one-shoulder netted black dress. Her red-carpet classic footwear boasted an approximately three-inch stiletto heel, a single strap across the toes and a slim ankle strap.
It also included a stylish nod to the single leg compression sleeve she often wears on the court; a black cord extending from one shoe’s ankle strap, wrapped up her calf.
Wilson collaborated on her look, which she aptly called “nothing but net,” with her stylist Amadi Brooks, who also dresses WNBA players Sydney Colson, Jackie Young, and Allisha Gray.
When scoring basket after basket on the court, Wilson opts for Nikes, often in bold colorways, such as the joyful primary-colored LeBron 21 Polka Dot PE she wore to play the Chicago Sky on Tuesday. Off the court, she regularly pairs her ‘fits with strappy stilettos or fresh sneakers.

Next year, the two-time WNBA MVP will be able to wear her own signature Nike shoe, dubbed the A’One. She joins the ranks of Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Osaka and the New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu, all of whom have a coveted brand deal as Nike signature athletes.
Wilson will join the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, which kicks off tomorrow, Sat., July 20, at 8:30 pm ET and will air on ESPN and ABC.
The Gold medalist will also once again wear the Team USA basketball jersey at the Paris 2024 Olympics, which runs from July 26 to Aug. 11. The first US women’s basketball matchup is against Japan on July 29, followed by Belgium on Aug. 1.
