As Bad Bunny is a global star who has become quite known for his style, it’s little surprise that he has inked a slew of successful fashion collaborations. The most fruitful has come in the form of his partnership with Adidas Originals, officially announced in March 2021.
“I have always loved sneakers since I was a kid. They were the essential detail of the style I wanted and the look I wanted to have depending on what I was going to do that day,” Bad Bunny said in a statement at the time. “I would go out with my friends and we would ask each other, ‘What sneakers are you going to wear today?’ At the same time, we would talk about those sneakers we dreamt of having one day.”
Over the span of three years, the collaboration has released 18 shoes to the public and even teased some that have yet to be released, like the Taekwondo Ballerina shoe. Designs have spanned five silhouettes and incorporated signature details like double-tongues, a warped T-bar, a third-eye emblem, among other things. Those details, like the double-tongue which is said to be a nod to Benito’s bilingual ability, often have deeper meaning for hardcore Bad Bunny fans that goes beyond the aesthetics.
